BC Blue formed in 2022 when opportunity presented itself to play the Blues. Members of this band are among the Lehigh Valley’s highly respected musicians with contributions to many bands locally, regionally and internationally.
These musicians have been bringing their wealth of experience and passion to Blues, Jazz, Swing, Folk, R&B, Soul and more. Bev Conklin, is the "BC" of the Blue and her journey began with BC & The Blues Crew and continues with the still-current Americana-Roots, singer-songwriter band The BC Combo. The members of BC Blue have been graced with performances on bills that have included Ray Charles, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Ronnie Earl, Shemekia Copeland, Son Seals, Lonnie Brooks, Junior Wells, Rufus Thomas, Saffire and so many more.
Bev Conklin (“BC”) received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Penn State University. She wrote poetry, studied classical piano and learned guitar during her youth. BC is a singer-songwriter and is fondly named The Lehigh Valley’s Queen of the Blues. Bev's history begins with her family's legacies in New Orleans and Baton Rouge followed by her journey throughout the U.S. and Europe as an Army brat. BC has performed with Koko Taylor and Lonnie Brooks at Mayfair, Shemekia Copeland at Sellersville, Ronnie Earl at the Pennsylvania Blues Festival, Saffire at Godfrey Daniels, Carl Weathersby at Kingston Mines and on bills with so many during her journey, including opening for Ray Charles.
From Brooklyn NY, “Chicago” Carl Snyder worked with over sixty of the Windy City’s blues artists on keys, most extensively as the band leader for Junior Wells, Otis Rush, Son Seals and Jimmy Johnson; his bio and recent book TEN THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS are both a stunning read.
Chicago born and Detroit raised (and survived), Joe Mac has a lifetime of experience with Southside Chicago Blues masters like Buddy Guy, John Primer, Byther Smith, Eric "Guitar" Davis, Toronzo Cannon, Aaron Burton, Elmore James and so many more. Joe toured with Nature’s Divine when they hit with, I Just Can’t Control Myself.
From Philadelphia, Bobby Soul brings his wealth of experience on bass, vocals and guitar having a career with Soul, Funk and Blues. Bobby formed his band, Filet of Soul.
From Newark, Glenn Spadone is a retired fire-fighter and has been on the live music scene as a drummer for over 30 years.
Given all the years we've invested and now what the pandemic has dished out to challenge any musician yet alone a band’s existence, we are happy to be collaborating on nothing but the Blues. Videos by JB (Musikfest 2022)
