Our History

BC Blue formed in 2022 as a formidable collaboration solely based on decades as Blues artists.  Members of this band are among the Lehigh Valley’s highly respected musicians and have been recipients of many Lehigh Valley Music Awards, honors by the Blues Guild of the Lehigh Valley, W. C. Handy Awards, Grammy awards and nominations.  They are very proud to have on their resume as making it to the Finals of The Blues Foundation’s International Blues Competition in Memphis TN, representing the Billtown Blues Association out of Williamsport PA

These musicians have been bringing their wealth of experience and passion to Blues, Jazz, Swing, Folk, R&B, Soul and more for 30 plus years. This band's journey began as BC & The Blues Crew followed by the still-current Americana-Roots, singer-songwriter band The BC Combo and its members have been graced with performances on bills that have included Ray Charles, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Ronnie Earl, Shemekia Copeland, Son Seals, Lonnie Brooks, Junior Wells, Rufus Thomas, Saffire and so many more.  They have performed at the Pennsylvania Blues Festival, Split Rock Wine Festival, NJ Wine Festival, Musikfest, Mayfair, Lehigh Valley Blues Festival, Lehigh River Blues Jam, Anglesea, Baltimore Blues Festival and Allentown Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival and much more.

New Orleans native and Army brat, Bev Conklin (“BC”) is a Penn State grad, a singer-songwriter and is fondly named The Lehigh Valley’s Queen of the Blues. BC has performed with Koko Taylor and Lonnie Brooks at Mayfair, Shemekia Copeland at Sellersville, Ronnie Earl at the Pennsylvania Blues Festival, Saffire at Godfrey Daniels, Carl Weathersby at Kingston Mines and on bills with so many during her journey, including opening for Ray Charles.  From Brooklyn NY, “Chicago” Carl Snyder worked with over sixty of the Windy City’s blues artists on keys, most extensively as the band leader for Junior Wells, Otis Rush, Son Seals and Jimmy Johnson; his bio and recent book are both a stunning read.  Chicago born and Detroit raised (and survived), Joe Mac has a lifetime of experience with Southside Chicago Blues masters like Buddy Guy, John Primer, Byther Smith, Eric "Guitar" Davis, Toronzo Cannon, Aaron Burton, Elmore James and so many more. Joe  toured with Nature’s Divine when they hit with, I Just Can’t Control Myself.  From Philadelphia, Bobby Soul brings his wealth of experience on bass, vocals and guitar having a career with Soul, Funk and Blues. And from New Jersey, Glenn Spadone has been on the live music scene on drums for over 30 years.

Given all the years we've invested and now what the pandemic has dished out to challenge any musician yet alone a band’s existence, we are happy to be collaborating on nothing but the Blues. Videos by JB (Musikfest 2022)

Nothin but the Blues!
